LPR records 16 new COVID-19 cases, two patients died

LUGANSK, September 25. /TASS/. Healthcare workers of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) detected 16 cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours while two patients died, the republic’s health ministry reported Friday.
“Overall, as of 09:00 (Moscow time – TASS) on September 25, there are 906 recorded and confirmed cases of the COVID-19 infection in the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the Luganskinformcenter news agency quoted the statement as saying.
On Thursday, the ministry reported 890 cases of the virus in the republic since the beginning of the pandemic.
There were two fatalities among the infected over the past 24 hours. In all, 31 people died of the disease caused by the coronavirus in the LPR. To date, there have been 750 recoveries, 14 patients were discharged over the past 24 hours.
The first case of the infection was detected in the LPR on March 30. The authorities introduced measures to contain the infection, hours of operation of state agencies, enterprises, institutions, and transportation were changed. Since May in some districts the sanitary measures were lifted due to the stabilized epidemic situation. Due to the sharp increase in the daily incidence, on September 21, the authorities introduced additional measures to curb the spread of the infection in the republic, for instance, increasing sanitary measures for mass events.
