Kyrgyzstan confirms 388 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

BISHKEK, October 15. /TASS/. Kyrgyzstan’s doctors recorded another 388 cases of the novel coronavirus and community-acquired pneumonia in the past 24 hours, the country’s crisis center reported on Thursday.

“Another 388 cases of coronavirus and community-acquired pneumonia were recorded nationwide in the past 24 hours, the total number of patients has reached 50,589 (about 0.8% of the population),” the crisis center said. The authorities reported 330 new COVID-19 cases the day before.

To date, 1,099 people have died of coronavirus-related complications, with five deaths reported in the past 24 hours. A total of 45,080 patients have recovered, with 196 recoveries reported in the past 24 hours.

According to the crisis center, 2,092 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals, 1,847 patients are being treated at home. A total of 3,488 medical workers have contracted the disease so far, 3,113 of them have recovered.

The situation in Kyrgyzstan, which has a population of almost 6.5 million people, deteriorated in late June, when up to 700 coronavirus cases were recorded daily. In July, this figure ranged from 900 to 1,000 cases in 24 hours for several days running.
