Hyland bolsters RPA and intelligent data capabilities

At this year’s CommunityLIVE conference, Hyland announced the addition robotic process automation (RPA) and new intelligent data tools to its suite, with the launch of Hyland RPA and Hyland Experience Capture.

Hyland wants to help drive digital transformation through modern content services, and these new offerings will sit alongside the company’s expansive range.

Hyland Experience Capture (HxC) is described as an intelligent web-based scanning, classification, and data extraction tool.  It is able to  use intelligent capture functionality including optical character recognition (OCR) and machine learning to accelerate information capture and improve accuracy over time.

Hyland states that the tool can also help to

Hyland executive vice president and chief product officer John Phelan explains, “Despite continued demand for digital transformation and automated processing, organizations still receive paper documents. As businesses continue to operate with remote workforces, they’ve found they need to reorganise to support evolving business processes.”

“With a cloud-based, SaaS deployment, HxC supports the evolving business climate by enabling organisations to scale front-end capture tools across multiple sites and locations, while keeping IT sprawl and maintenance to a minimum.”

Hyland Experience Capture is Hyland’s first cloud-native platform built on the Hyland Experience Platform.

Hyland’s robotic process automation suite, called Hyland RPA, is designed to include features such as process analysis and bot management.

The company hopes to help customers automate manual, rule-based, high-volume and repetitive tasks where human touch does not add value helps organizations increase efficiency and accuracy, improve information security and compliance, and accelerate return on investment.

“Hyland RPA complements Hyland’s robust intelligent process automation capabilities, empowering our customers to continue to innovate, automate and optimize their key business processes with the most modern technologies,” comments Phelan.

“The use cases for this type of automation span every department and industry we serve, helping reduce costs and improve efficiency, employee satisfaction and, ultimately, customer experience without requiring system integrations or custom coding.”

The company’s RPA capabilities come from the company’s acquisition of RPA firm Another Monday earlier in 2020.

“The RPA market is an exciting and challenging space with rapid growth and a vast number of possible applications that organizations can easily combine and integrate for better and more flexible business processes support,” said Another Monday CEO Hans Martens, in August of 2020.

“We see Hyland as the best fit to embed our RPA technology into their powerful automation platform, to truly implement easy, end-to-end automation for everyone.”

Hyland also stated that the addition of RPA technology is an integral component of Hyland’s intelligent automation strategy and a natural fit for its customer base — with broad, dynamic use cases across the industries and regions Hyland serves.
