Uzbekistan confirms 311 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, says health ministry

TASHKENT, October 12. /TASS/. Uzbekistan’s coronavirus cases grew by 311 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected people to 60,894, the Ministry of Health’s press service said on Monday.

According to the ministry, the number of recoveries grew by 365 in the past 24 hours reaching 58,069 (95% of the total number of infected individuals). Another five patients died of coronavirus-related complications in the past 24 hours, with the death toll climbing to 526.

Currently, 2,629 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals, 110 of them are in critical condition.

On August 15, Uzbekistan began to gradually lift lockdown restrictions. Meanwhile, face masks and social distancing remain obligatory throughout the country. A ban on gatherings and mass events continues to be in effect. People over the age of 65 are advised to continue to comply with self-isolation rules.
