Not more than ten coronavirus reinfection cases registered across globe -sanitary watchdog

MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. Not more than ten cases of reinfection with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed across the globe by now, Anna Popova, chief of Russia’s sanitary watchdog, said on Monday.
“Statistical data are now being collected. By now, there are not more than ten reliably confirmed cases. As a rule, these are people with immunodeficiency or immune system problems,” she said in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.
According to the latest statistics, over 33 million people have been infected worldwide and nearly 998,000 deaths have been reported.
To date, 1,159,573 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Russia, with 945,920 patients having recovered from the disease. Russia’s latest data indicates 20,385 fatalities nationwide. Earlier, the Russian government set up an Internet hotline to keep the public updated on the coronavirus situation.
